Uvod
Nakon pretraivanja interneta, nisam mogao pronai niti jedan tekst na hrvatskom jeziku o povijesti kawasakija. Stoga sam si malo dao truda i pronaao dosta informacija o kawasakiju na raznim internet stranicama no sve na stranim jezicima. Malo mi je udno da ni na slubenim stranicama firmi koje prodaju kawasakijeve motocikle nema nita o povijesti tvrtke ije proizvode prodaju.

No krenimo redom.
SHOZO KAWASAKI roen je u tipinoj japanskoj trgovakoj obitelji. Sa 17 godina postao je trgovac u NAGASAKI-ju, tada jedinom japanskom gradu koji je je u to doba bio otvoren prema zapadu. 1869. zapoljava se u kompaniji iz Ryukyu koja se bavi proizvodnjom i trgovinom eera. Iz iskusta koje je stekao dok je radio sa eerom (gdje je dosta putovao na brodovima), shvatio je da su zapadni brodovi puno bolji od japanskih i da ih se ne moe po niemu usporeivati (bili su bri, vei, stabilniji). Stoga se odluuje na vlastitu proizvodnju brodova.

U aprilu 1876. godine uz pomo vlade i japanskog ministra financija Masayoshi Matsukata (koji je roen u istoj provinciji gdje i SHOZO, vidi sluajnosti sa nama Smile), Kawasaki osniva KAWASAKI TSUKIJI brodogradilite na zemlji koju mu je ustupila japanska vlada.

1894. godine takoer uz pomo japanskog ministarstva dobiva dozvole za najvanije rute za prijevoz roba na japanskom podruju, te uspjeno prevozi robu i ljude diljem japana.

1896. godine. Kawasaki mijenja ima svojoj firmi u Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd.
1897. godine Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd zavrava svoj najvei brod koji su do tada ikada napravili, brod se zvao Iyomarunapravili. Kroz 15-tk godina napravili su 80 novih brodova koji su se mogli mjeriti sa zapadnim brodovima. 1890. godine napravili su prvi elini brod i firma Kawasaki Dockyard Co., Ltd. zasluna je za unapreenje brodogradnje u Japanu.

1902. godine SHOZO KAWASAKI se odluuje na gradnju velikih suhih dokova za popravljanje brodova koji tada u Japanu nisu postojali. Te godine napravili su suhi dok duine: 130 m i irine 15.7 m, koji je mogao prihvatiti tada najvee brodove.
Danas Kawasaki brodogradilite proizvodi velike brodove za prijevoz prirodnog plina (LNG)., brze putnike brodove i obavlja popravke brodova u na svojim dokovima.

1906. godine SHOZO KAWASAKI osniva jo jednu kompanij HYOGO WORKS za proizvodnju lokomotiva, teternih kamiona. Unutar koncerna HYOGO WORKS Kawasaki se odluuje za osnivanje jo jedne tvornice i to tvornice za proizvodnju zrakoplova i to samo 15 godina nakon povijesnog leta brae Wright. Poeli su sa proizvodnjom zrakoplova od drveta i platna, no kako se tehnologija razvijala, nakon nekoliko godina napravili su prvi avion od metala.
1928. godine Kawasaki odluuje da raspodiijeli HYOGO WORKS na nekoliko manjih ali jednako uspjenih nezavisnih kompanija.
HYOGO WORKS se dijeli na Kawasaki Aircraft Co., Ltd komapniju za proizvodnju aviona i pratee opreme, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. za proizvodnju lokomotiva, kamiona za prijevoz tereta. Ostale kompanije su nastavile djelovati unutar HYOGO WORKS.


Povijest kawasaki motocikala

1950-ih godina, nakon II. svjetskog rata Japan doivljava snaan gospodarski razvoj i te su godine bitne nama motoristima jer se te godine uprava Kawasakija odluila za vlastitu proizvodnju motocikala. No, vratimo se jo malo u 20-te godine 20 stoljea.
Prvi pokuaji proizvodnje kawasaki motocikala seu u 1924. godinu, no zbog nezaintresiranosti kupaca kawasaki se odluuje samo na proizvodnju agregata koji ugrauju drugi porizvoai u svoje motocikle. Proizvodili su 60 ccm dvotaktne te 150 i 250 ccm eteverotakne motore po licenci BMW-a sa kojim je kompanija imala uspjenu suradnju jo iz gradnje zrakoplova. Tek 1954. godine, nakon II. svjetskog rata kawasaki se odluuje na proizvodnju vlastitog motocikla. Motocikl je proizveden pod imenom MEIHATSU (to je bila podrunica Kawasaki Aircraft Co). U to doba su pokuali napraviti i svoju liniju skutera i malih motocikala, ali se nisu mogli boriti protiv tada dva najvea gigatna koji su proizvodili skutere: FUJI RABBIT i MITSUBISHI SILVER PIGEON.

No da bi kawasaki bio danas to to jest, ne moemo prei preko jednog proizvoaa motocikla od kojih je kawasaki kupio tvornice i tehnologiju te tako napredovao a to je MEGURO MOTOCYCLES. Meguro ulazi u proizvodnju motocikala 1937. godine. U jako dobrim odnosima sa japanskom vladom, Meguro uspijeva svoje motocikle prodavati japanskoj vojsci. Prvi njegov motocikl je bio Z97: 500 ccm motor koje se zadrao punih 13 godine u proizvodnji, sve do 50-godina prolog stoljea. U nekoliko godina MEGURO je napravio nekoliko lijepih i kvalitetnih motocikala. Prvenstveno su to bili 250ccm i 350ccm jednocilindrini motocikli. Svi su oni proizvedeni pod snanim utjecajem britanskih motocikala, od kojih je Meguro uzimao tehnologiju i dizajn.
1958. godine Meguno se pokuava rijeiti britanskog utjecaja i predstavlja 3 potpuno svoja motocikla, 125cc E3, 250cc F i 350cc YA modele. No motocikli nisu bili prihvaeni od kupaca i to je bio kraj MEGURO MOTOCYCLES kompanije.
1960. godine kako je Meguno kompanija bila u velikim gubicima, te ju kupuje Kawasaki. U tih 20-tako godina koliko je postojala MEGURO MOTOCYCLE je bila jedna od najveih tvornica motocikala u Japanu, ali zbog krivih procjena kompanija je jednostavno nestala.
Tako je Kawsaki doao u posjed tvornicama i tehnologiji koju do tada nije posjedovao. 1951. godine kawasaki odluuje ozbiljno krenuti u proizvodnju motocikala. Prvi motocikl koji su proizveli te godine nosio je oznaku 125 New Ace.
